Wanted LeT Terrorist Killed in Encounter in J&K’s Budgam

J&K: Security forces on Tuesday night killed a wanted terrorist linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in an encounter in the higher reaches of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

 

The terrorist was identified as Fauzi Musa, also known as Sulaiman Shah. According to Indian Army officials, he was wanted in connection with several terror attacks carried out over the years on both sides of the Pir Panjal range.

 

The Army’s Kashmir-based Chinar Corps said troops noticed suspicious movement during an operation in the area. When the suspected terrorists were challenged, they opened fire, leading to an exchange of fire in which one terrorist was killed.

 

Officials said Musa had escaped an encounter in the Yousmarg hills earlier this month.
