Major Jaivir Singh: Wartime Hero of Chhamb
Major Jaivir Singh was commanding a rifle company holding a battalion defended area. When the enemy managed to penetrate the defences, Major Jaivir Singh immediately led a counter-attack and pushed the enemy to the borders. Major Jaivir were awarded Mahavir Chakra for their exemplary courage, skills and leadership and imagination.
