As per reports and a video footage that is now viral online, four Pakistani military intelligence people were thrashed by the locals of Rawalakot in Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning when they tried to abduct a local youth.
The Pakistani MI personnel had reportedly first claimed themselves as FIA personnel before the masses and said that they had come to arrest an accused. However, when the local police arrived on the scene, they introduced themselves to be MI personnel and also sought immediate help. The local police then not only rescued them but also took them to the nearby police station.
According to reports, the double cabin pick-up of the victims’ vehicle had an unregistered Islamabad number plate.
The local youth named Noman Khan, a resident of Palandri in Sudhanoti district of POJK was claimed to be involved in financial crimes from a bank situated in Rawalakot of POJK, as was alleged by the Military Intelligence personnel who came to arrest him. However, in retaliation of the locals, they had to seek local police’s help to escape.
The incident has garnered reactions on social media platform as well and netizens have blasted the Pakistan government for continued violations of human rights of the people in POJK. If reports are anything to go by, the Pakistani MI personnel who were to nab the local youth in POJK had neither an arrest warrant with them nor did they have any ID cards. Thus, it is only fair for the locals to protect their own rights from the puppets of the Pakistan government.
