Abdul Rashid Shora, father of former JNU student-activist Shehla Rashid has claimed a ‘threat to his life’ from his daughter after he demanded an investigation to be initiated into NGOs being run by Shehla and the bank accounts of his daughters and their mother. Shora who has now been barred from entering his own house, on Monday while leveling some serious accusations against Shehla accused her of having taken a huge amount of money for joining politics in Kashmir valley. He also demands her 'mysterious financial dealings’ with Feroz Peerzada, Zahoor Watali (arrested by NIA) and Rasheed Engineer to be investigated.

Former JNU student activist Shehla Rashid's father Abdul Rashid Shora while exposing his daughter’s "notorious activities" have complained of ‘death threat’ from his daughter. On Monday, he wrote to J&K DGP Dilbag Singh alleging that his daughter took Rs. 3 crores in cash from a Kashmiri businessman. He also sought an enquiry into their bank accounts, email accounts, acquisition of property by them in Delhi and “mysterious financial dealings with Feroz Peerzada, Zahoor Watali and Engineer Rashid.”

Shora in his written complaint alleged that the amount of Rs 3 crores was given by businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali for joining the J&K People’s Movement (JKPM), a party originally launched by Shah Faesal, an IAS officer whose resignation is pending with the government. Shohra said that Zahoor Watali had called him to his Sanant Nagar residence in June 2017, two months before the NIA arrested the latter. Engineer Rasheed was also present there, he alleged. They reportedly told him about their plan to launch JKPM and sought his help in getting Shehla Rashid on board, who was doing her PhD from JNU then, he wrote.

In his letter to Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Monday, Shohra wrote, “for this, they offered me Rs 3 crore in cash for Shehla to join Kashmir centric politics with these ‘notorious’ people.” He claimed that despite his resistance, his wife and elder daughter supported Shehla and became part of the deal along with Sakib Ahmad.

After Rashid exposed his daughter’s “anti-national” activities, Shora has also complained that now he faced a “threat to his life” from Shehla, his eldest daughter Asma Rashid, wife Zubaida Shohra, and her security guard Sakib Ahmed. Shora who has been barred from entering his house has sought security and police intervention.

Meanwhile, Shehla who might be prosecuted on charges of treason anytime soon has denied all allegations on herself calling her father “wife-beater, abusive and depraved man”. A former JNU student and vice-president Shehla Rashid after joining politics became a founding member of Jammu Kashmir Political Movement (JKPM) by IAS topper turned politician Shah Faesal, who has now safely distanced himself from the matter.
