In the wake of pandemic coronavirus outbreak, Delhi Police today morning cleared the protest site in Shaheen Bagh area amid complete lockdown in the national capital. Earlier, people at the protest site were numerous times requested to clear off the road as lockdown was imposed by the Government, but they refused to pay any heed and abide by the guidelines leading to a stricter action by the authorities.

Early this morning, protest site has been cleared by the Police and Section 144 Cr PC has been imposed with massive police deployment in the area. The Delhi Government has yesterday made it clear that anybody found violating the guidelines announced by the Government will be strictly dealt with following which action has been taken. As the assembly was unlawful nine people including six females and three males sitting in the area have been taken into custody. All barricades, boards, hoardings at the site have been lifted, tents uprooted, benches removed with the help of JCBs and man force.

In the light of the pandemic corona, with such a timely action people of Delhi and around can heave a sigh of relief as not only it was a threat to lives amid the rising cases across states but also a big hindrance for any health emergency like situation that recently claimed a life of a middle aged ailing man who lost his life due to road blockage by the protestors, in lack of timely attendance.

As the number of cases in India rise up to 500, Government gets stricter saying violators of guidelines will not be spared

However, number of people from the area of Shaheen Bagh gathered after the Police’s action at the site, violating the guidelines again and acting against the action. Although the senior Police officers of Delhi Police tried to convey Government’s message to them that is in the interests of each and all in times of a deadly virus outbreak called COVID-19.

Meanwhile, PM Modi himself had expressed his deep concern yesterday over people at various places not taking the lockdown seriously which might push the entire country to deal with a more worse situation that can also go out of hands if not acted upon timely. India has over 500 cases now which has just doubled over 2-3 days with 10 deaths reported. Most of the states have imposed Section 144 in number of districts with a complete lockdown and have also sealed the borders to minimize the number of cases and take control over the situation.

A week back when the Government authorities got strict about implementing its actions to avoid social distancing in the wake of corona, people were still found gathering in numbers refusing to take such announcements seriously and endangering unknown number of more lives around them and also across the country.
