How Yogendra Yadav used Department of Social Work Students Union (DSWSU) for his cheap Politics

Recently, media houses shared the fatwa against Kapil Mishra wherein it was alleged that the student body of Department of Social Work, University of Delhi have called out loud that Kapil Mishra “you don’t deserve to be called DSSW Alumni”. Luteyans media, sickulars and some political outfits were preparing to spread the fire of hatred essentially to tarnish the image of Kapil Mishra. Hate mongers like Yogendra Yadav, Barkha Dutta etc. had been at the forefront to spread this lie. But their cruel motives and unjustified dreams vanished when the President of the Students Union issued a statement stating that he was solely responsible for the fatwa issued against Kapil Mishra. He further clarified that neither the students and the faculty members nor any of the almunis have any role in it. He solely owned the complete responsibility of doing such a mean job. It gets further interesting to note that the statement issued by the President of Students Union, is in the media team of Yogender Yadav’s political outfit ‘Swaraj India’. Now the situation is as clear as a glass that how desperate is Yogender Yadav to malign the image of the most respectable senior of mine Mr. Kapil Mishra and for this he used none other but the place where Kapil Mishra studied which happens to be my alma mater too- DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK, DELHI UNIVERSITY.

Kapil Mishra came onto the radar of hate mongering Luteyans media and sickular when he opposed the illegal occupation of Jaffarabad road by anti-CAA, a law that gives relaxation to persecuted minorities (i.e. Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian) from three neighbouring Muslim majority nations viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The pro-CAA protesters were worried that Jaffarabad may convert into another Shaheen Bagh, where many Muslim women have illegally occupied the roads, and have substantially damaged the daily life of the citizens. The Shaheen Bagh road has been under the illegal occupation of anti-CAA protesters for the past two months and there is less possibility that the road might be vacated soon. The trigger for the riots in Northeast Delhi erupted because of the stone-pelting on the peaceful pro-CAA protesters. With the clear intention to suppress any kind of opposition, the anti-CAA protesters went on to stone-pelting. Kapil Mishra on the other hand could be heard mentioning to the DCP in the video that they have remained quiet irrespective of the fact stones have been pelted on them. He requested the Police to clear off the road otherwise they will have to walk down the road to protest regarding the same. And for this he gave two days to the Police, as long as the time American President is in India. But the anti-CAA protesters turned violent and at last the peaceful pro-CAA protesters had no other option left but to safeguard themselves. The riots happened because of illegal occupation of the road but sadly Kapil Mishra was blamed for no reason. He was there to protest against the illegal occupation of the road which had disrupted the entire routine of the residents of those areas.
 
 
 
 
But the SICKULARS and the Luteyans media pounced onto this opportunity to label Kapil Mishra as an instigator communal. Even the request made to the local police by Kapil Mishra was colored to be threatening in nature which had resulted in riots. Though it is difficult to understand what made the anti-CAA protesters all charged up when the request was made to the Police. Our constitution has given us freedom but not at the cost of disrupting the life of the people, not with the illegal occupation of road that too which has been persisting for so long. This kind of situation would have been very similar to a cage. But all of this was forgotten when Kapil Mishra made a sincere request of getting rid of illegal occupation by the protesters. Though the real trigger of the riot was stone pelting yet Kapil Mishra was blamed unjustly. He was held accused of a crime he has never committed.
 
 
 
While all of this was happening on the front, there was a lot happening behind the curtains. A conspicuous, surprising and rather far upsetting by nature incident took place. Department of Social Work Students Union (DSWSU) issued a fatwa against Kapil Mishra on 28.02.2020 saying that they are ashamed of him for his hate speech and he doesn’t deserve to be called a DSSW Alumni. They used indecent language and levelled serious allegations against him for instigating and organising Delhi riots, disturbing communal harmony which resulted in loss of life, home and livelihood and all of this was done without any corroborating evidence against Mr. Kapil Mishra. These allegations were completely baseless. Mr. Mishra was the former president and one of the brightest students of the Department ever had. He is respected by many and he is one of the dynamic alumnis’ of the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi. But on 02.03.2019, the President of DSWSU issued a statement, which clarified everything. The truth was out that the fatwa was issued by an individual(President of the students union) and neither the students union nor the department as an institution has anything to do with it.
 
 
 
But it is overwhelming and surprising that the President of DSWSU has dared to make such baseless allegations against revered senior Mr. Kapil Mishra. He has levelled serious accusations against Kapil Mishra and labelled him to be communal. It was surprising that he mustered the courage to splurge venom against Kapil Mishra. Parallely I saw his twitter handle, where all my doubts were cleared. This person is in the media team of Swaraj India, a political organization founded by Yogendra Yadav. Hence it was clarified that it was neither the student union nor the department has issued the fatwa but it was nonetheless Mr. Yogender Yadav who has used an institution of noble profession as his pawn to malign the image of Mr. Kapil Mishra. I had never imagined that Mr. Yogendra Yadav would stoop to this level. His political ambitions were unfulfilled during his candidature with the Aam Adami Party (AAP) so he has started using the educational institutions like DSSW to further fulfill his notorious desires and satiate his political ambitions. It is a ticking bomb and I personally think that all educational institution must be aware of this hate monger Mr. Yogendra Yadav, who has been using the gullible youth for his political means.
