‘LADAKH POLICE’ gets a new logo and Insignia as its separate identity

In a new development, the police administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has now received its separate identity as new symbols and Insignia have been issued to them. As per the new order by Ladakh administration, the insignias of J&K Police shall no longer be used by the Ladakh Police and hence its earlier nomenclature with the name ‘J&K Police’ has now been replaced with ‘LADAKH POLICE’ for the entire police force of Ladakh.
 
 
 
According to the new order issued by the administration of Union Territory of Ladakh Police Head Quarters, the police in Ladakh shall no longer be known by the insignias of Jammu and Kashmir Police force as it has been accorded its own insignias and nomenclature for the force. Hence, no police officer/official shall put on president police collar insignia of J&K Police on their uniforms now on, as per new directives. It also mentioned that the order had the approval of the competent authority.
 
 
 
As per the order issued on 23 May 2020, the IG of Police SS Khandare disclosing the directions stated that the police force in Ladakh shall now be called “LADAKH POLICE”. The order instructed that wherever the organizational name “J&K Police” is written on any signboards, police vehicles, letterheads, office stationery, seals, and official items, the name shall be replaced with “LADAKH POLICE”, in capital letters henceforth.

Ever since the UT of Ladakh got its separate identity from the erstwhile state of J&K, the police administration in Ladakh had been using its old organizational name ‘J&K Police” at all places.
 
 
However, the formation sign now has a backdrop of blood-red color symbolizing sacrifice in the golden border and ribbon, a snow leopard is designed in motion. The Logo has Ashoka with Satyameva Jayate, LP in symmetric design, and Juniper leaves (incense offered on religious occasions) covering the Ashoka and LP.
