The centuries long brutal, oppressive and sanguinary process of Islamisation of Kashmir is an example of Islamic resistance against co-existence with multi-culturalism. Lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus were forced to flee the Kashmiri Valley in 1989-1990 amidst clear warnings for Hindus to either convert to Islam leave the valley or die being issued from the mosques followed by brutal massacres and targeted killings of the people of Hindu minority, rape of Hindu women.
However, it is but a disheartening fact that it's not only Kashmir that has been taken at task by the Islamist expansionists, the systematic Islamisation of Jammu is not a generally talked about issue. The Hindu minority in various Muslims dominated regions of Jammu has been selectively targeted, a series of massacres have taken place to terrorise the non-Muslim inhabitants into migrating the regions.
Jammu has been subjected to administratively support illegal immigrant settlement, construction of numerous large and small mosques on government land; selective killings of Hindus to turn alter the demographics of the province.
In fact in the month of May and June alone in 2001, there were incessant attacks on Hindus in various villages in Jammu, on May 12, 2001 terrorists kidnapped Rajesh Singh of Bharki village at gun point and fled to a forest area and the very next day bodies of a young woman and her 10 year old child were fished out from Chenab in Ramban.
The terrorists forced their entry into the house of Chuni Lal at Sunder Dachhan in Kishtwar on 16th May at about 12 Noon and shot him dead. Following a series of such targeted attacks the Islamists attempted to massacre Hindu civilians on June 4, 2001 at village Bathoi in Mahore.
Mahore tehsil of district Udhampur, is one such Muslim-dominated area in Jammu province. It has been a target of the Islamic expansionists who want to drive out or selectively kill the Hindu minority in pursuance of the infamous Dixon Plan. There have been multiple attacks on the Hindu minority of this tehsil like any other Muslim-dominated region.
Terrorists broke forcefully in Onkar Singh's house, who was member of the Village Defence Committee (VDC), VDC were setup in the mid-1990s with an aim to strengthen the security of Hindus living in remote and mountainous areas of Doda, Kishtwar, Ramba, Rajouri, Reasi, Kathua and Poonch districts of the region as defense mechanism to the multiple targeted attacks on Hindus in the regions.
The members of these committees guard the identified villages as well as the infrastructural installations in and around the village serving like a 'security arch' to defend remote and hilly villages against terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
Onkar was beaten up and his gun snatched, he managed to escape from the custody of the terrorists.
Terrorists then turned to the house of Onkar's brother Lal Singh and knocked at the entry door. The moment Lal Singh's daughter Neelam who was 16 years old, opened the door, terrorists opened fire on her, injuring her critically, Lal Singh fired in retaliation.
With the help of some other VDC members who had been injured in an IED blast at Serni Nullah Lal Singh foiled the massacre plan of terrorists. However, instead of appreciating the bravery of Lal Singh and other five VDC members, an ASI posted in Gool Police Station had reportedly charged Rs 2000 each from Lal Singh and others for letting them go and not booking them in "fake" cases of atrocities on some villagers. The matter however was reported to the senior police officers.
The entire incident goes on to show how the armed Islamists attack the Hindus and Hindus who rise in defense face administrative and police suppression by the Islamists occupying the authoritative positions. It seems the Nexus would rather have Hindus voluntarily sacrifice their lives at the hands of Islamic terrorists instead of protecting themselves.
It is indeed a highly apathetic situation for Hindus throughout the nation, the hate crimes against them are not recognized, the system would rather suppress the communal angle that leads to these crimes, letting hatred against Hindus being peddled simultaneously. The tokenistic sympathy of leaders when Hindus die is in fact ironic given that these very leaders opposed installing of VDCs which can be good defense for the Hindu minority.
