Amid arguments over nepotism, the anti-Hindu storyline, and controversies surrounding the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Mahesh Bhatt is facing public-backlash which is clearly showing in the record-breaking downvotes Sadak 2 trailer is continuously getting on YouTube.
The trailer of the upcoming film ‘Sadak 2’ starring Alia, daughter of Mahesh Bhatt was released on Wednesday and instantly faced rejection from people becoming the most disliked video on YouTube. So far, the trailer has received 5.6 million dislikes on the video-sharing platform and lacs of negative comments with a huge gap in the ‘like-dislike’ ratio.
The film although not released yet has been at the receiving end from quite long now. Surrounded by numerous conspiracies it is set to release on 28th Aug on the online platform but is on the target for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments apart from encouraging nepotism. In the latest allegation, a musician has also claimed that one of the songs from the film has been picked from his 2011 Pakistani composition.
Much before ‘Sadak 2’ trailer was released, there have been campaigns doing the rounds amongst people on social media platforms to show agitation against nepotism in Bollywood and boycott 'Sadak 2' following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant’s fans have been demanding action against perpetrators and also have been propagating the conspiracy theory around the actor’s sudden demise.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhatt’s elder daughter and yesteryear actor Pooja Bhatt has defended Sadak 2 against all the negative remarks and downvotes saying lovers/haters are two sides of the coin and she is pleased that the chatter around the film’s trailer has helped it trend on the top, she said. Mahesh Bhatt too had earlier said in a message that he isn’t bothered about the fate of the film.
