In another instance of human rights abuse, Pakistan is reportedly persecuting the people of Gilgit Baltistan for wheat by making the supply obsolete. On the other hand, the Managing Director of Punjab Textbook Board, Pakistan has said that Gilgit Baltistan is not even a province of Pakistan since it is not a constitutional part of the country and Pakistan has only four provinces.

Citing Article 1 and 51 of the Pakistan constitution, the Managing Director of Punjab Textbook Board, Rai Manzoor has said that since there is no mention of Gilgit Baltistan as the fifth province of Pakistan, it has only four of them and GB is not a part of it. He insisted that the syllabus in schools which mentions that Pakistan has 5 provinces are misleading students and such books should be withdrawn from the syllabus.

He asserted over and again that “Pakistan has just four provinces as we can refer to our constitution and Gilgit Baltistan is certainly not a part of it,” said Rai Manzoor.

Former Chief Minister Hafiz Hazeez Ur Rehman of the province, confirming the news shared the grief of people and helplessness of the authorities concerning the issue.

In the wake of prevalent demands of Gilgit Baltistan natives who want freedom from atrocities of Pakistan and given a choice do not want to be associated with the country by any means, Pakistan has decided to take revenge on the innocent people and thus starving them.

Over the years several human rights activists from the region have raised the concern demanding fair treatment of the people of Gilgit Baltistan whose basic rights are violated by the Pakistan Government every now and then, in fact, it has become a regular practice for them to torture the innocent masses from the province.
