Puran Krishna Bhatt’s killer among three LeT terrorists killed in Shopian encounter

In an early morning encounter, security forces gunned down three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Shopian of Jammu and Kashmir. Two of the three killed terrorists were behind civilian killings in the valley.
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation at Munjh Marg in Zainapora area of Shopian following information about the presence of terrorists there. Soon, the search operation turned into an encounter in which three terrorists linked to proscribed terror outfit LeT killed.
Police also recovered one AK 47 rifle and two pistols from the possession of the terrorists. Lateef Lone, one of the killed terrorist, was involved in the killing of Purana Krishna Bhat, a Kashmiri Hindu. Another, Umer Nazir, was involved in the killing of Till Bahadur Thapa of Nepal, the police said in a tweet.
"Among 03 neutralised local terrorists, 02 identified as Lateef Lone of Shopian, involved in killing of a Kashmiri Pandit Shri Purana Krishna Bhat & Umer Nazir of Anantnag, involved in killing of Till Bahadur Thapa of Nepal. 01 AK 47 rifle & 2 pistols recovered: Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
