On 13 July 2002, 29 Hindu's were massacred in the Qasim Nagar area of Jammu by Pakistani sponsored Islamic terrorists and left more than 30 injured.
 
Situated on the outskirts of Jammu City, Qasim Nagar was a slum locality inhabited by mostly labourers. At around at 8 pm on 13 July, seven to eight terrorists in the guise of Hindu Godmen entered the locality and lobbed three to four grenades along with Ak-47 firing randomly on civilians. With in minutes, the slum locality had converted into a graveyard with dead bodies lying everywhere in a pool of blood which include men, women and kids. Some of the civilians killed on the spot while some succumbed to their injuries later in the hospital.
 
In the attack, 29 Hindu Civilians were killed which include ten women and a three year old kid. Rest were men. This horrific massacre had shaken the whole country and United States along with Russia and many other countries had condemned this attack.
 
Later in the Police investigation, it came to the fore that it was the handiwork of Pakistan based terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Seven LeT terrorists who were involved in the massacre were arrested along with its kingpin Abu Umar.
