One Lashkar hybrid terrorist and one OGW arrested by Security Forces in Sopore of J&K
One Lashkar-e-Taiba hybrid terrorist and an Over Ground Worker (OGW) have been arrested by Security Forces in Sopore of Jammu and Kashmir.
Based on specific inputs about the movement of terrorists, joint parties of Police, Army and CRPF were conducting checking on multiple simultaneous mobile vehicle check post ( MVCP) grids at Nowpora Six Way Junction, MRF Chowk, Bahrampora Bridge, Sonawani Bridge, and Behrampora Seeloo Bridge.
During the checking of vehicles around 7.30 pm, the Naka party at Behrampora Seeloo Bridge observed a suspicious movement of a vehicle with two people onboard towards Seeloo. When the vehicle was asked to stop, the passengers tried to flee from the spot.
The security forces nabbed the terrorist after a chase. During interrogation, the arrested individuals disclosed that they were tasked to deliver a weapon and a hand grenade at Seeloo, which was planned to be used for targeted killing.
They have been identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Dar of Pazalpura, Dangiwacha in Sopore and Sofi Ishaq Ahmad of Amberpora, Tarzoo, Sopore. Police recovered a pistol, a pistol magazine with eight rounds, and one hand grenade from the possession of Muzaffar Ahmed Dar, and one Chinese hand grenade from Sofi Ishaq Ahmad, upon their search. A case in this regard has been registered at Dangiwacha Police station in Rafiabad and further investigation is on.
