In a major setback for the Congress party, 64 leaders amongst former Deputy CM of J&K Tara Chand have resigned from the party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad. On Tuesday, they submitted a joint resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi.

  

 

 

 

Pertinent to mention here that Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday while lashing out at Rahul Gandhi for demolishing the party mechanism had parted ways from Congress. He will soon launch a national party from J&K.

 

 

The latest mass resignation comes close on the heels of the resignations of a dozen prominent Congress leaders, including former ministers and legislators, besides hundreds of Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, municipal corporators and district and block level leaders.
