Amidst increasing inflation, one Kg flour price in Pakistan touches an all time high at PKR 125

Pakistan's increasing woes are not taking the name of ending. Amidst the ongoing inflation in the country during the devastating floods, the price of one kg flour has reached upto Rs 125.
Pakistan has increased the prices of wheat and flour by 10-20 percent. In Balochistan, a 20 kg bag of flour was being sold for Rs 2,380 to Rs 2,500. Also, due to skyrocketing prices, flour was not available in most shops across the province.
The price of wheat flour in Karachi has increased from PKR 20-25 per kg to PKR 120-125 per kg in a few days. Similarly, the price of wheat (cereals) rose by 14 per cent to PKR 88/kg in a week from PKR 77.42/kg in the previous week.
Earlier on September 13, Balochistan flour mill owners had blamed the provincial government for the ongoing flour crisis in the province and alleged that the food department failed to procure wheat as per the requirement of this year. According to The Express Tribune, Ismail Iqbal Security Head of Research Fahad Rauf said, "Wheat has jumped 30 per cent in three months (according to PBS)."
After the severe floods, the supply of food in the country is decreasing. The prices of vegetables have also gone up as the whole country is facing shortage of vegetables. Large parts of the country are submerged - especially the provinces of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh in the south.
