Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested two terrorists of outlawed The Resistance Front (TRF) in Srinagar. TRF is an off shoot of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
They have been identified as Zubair Gul, a resident of Zoonimar (Category C terrorist) and Mohd Hamza Wali, a resident of Safakadal (Hybrid), the Srinagar police tweeted. A pistol and a grenade among other material were seized. They were involved in many terror incidents, the police added.
Police spokesperson said that the duo were in search of an opportunity to carry out attacks on non locals, minorities and security forces. The questioning of the duo is underway. An FIR in Police station Safakadal has been registered in this regard.
Arrests came in the backdrop of recent threat letter issued by the TRF to the officials who are conducting the demolition drive in Jammu and Kashmir. In the letter, TRF stated that the properties of `Resistance lovers’ are being destroyed in J&K, adding that they will target and kill those who are involved in the anti encroachment drive.
