RRR’s `Naatu Naatu' and `The Elephant Whisperers' win Oscars, PM Modi congratulates

Rajamouli’s RRR created history as it’s song Naatu Naatu won an Oscar in the category of Best Original Song. Naatu Naatu is the first song from an Indian film to earn a nomination and win in the best original song category.
 
"Elephant Whisperers", a short documentary film, also won an Oscar for India in the category of ' Best Documentary Short Film’ category.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated to both the Oscar winning Teams.
"Exceptional! The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. It will be a song that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani, @boselyricist and the entire team for this prestigious honour,” Modi tweeted after ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the award.

Naatu Naatu was nominated in this category along with songs like Lift me up from (Black Panther Wakanda Forever), Applause ( Tell it like a Woman), This is life ( Everything Everywhere all at Once), and Hold my Hand (Top Gun Maverick).
 
Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the original singers performed 'Naatu Naatu' live for the guests at the 95th Academy Awards.
 
The song ‘Natu-Natu’ has been composed by MM Kiravani and written by Chandra Bose, this song has been shot in Junior NTR and Ram Charan. The song was released as “Nacho Nacho” in Hindi, “Nattu Kuthu” in Tamil and “Halli Natu” in Kannada. This song also won an award in the category of Best Original Song at the 80th Golden Globe Awards. Earlier, ‘Natu-Natu’ also won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Song.
