Girl with Indian flag painted on her face barred from entering Golden Temple in Amritsar
In a startling incident, a girl was stopped by a Sikh man from entering Golden Temple in Amritsar just because she had an Indian flag painted on her face.
On being asked about the reason for stopping the girl, the Sikh man said, the girl can’t enter into the temple with tricolour on her face as this is Punjab not India. The Sikh man got furious during the argument and lashed out at the girl for filming the incident.
Soon after the video of the girl went viral on the internet, SGPC General Secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal spoke on the whole matter with news agency ANI and said, this is a Sikh shrine. Every religious place has its own decorum...We welcome everyone...We apologise if an official misbehaved...The flag on her face was not our national flag as it didn't have Ashoka Chakra. It could have been a political flag.
However, the video which has gone viral on the internet is getting sharp reactions from the netizens. Some are calling it the Khalistani agenda while some are saying Khalistanis taking over Golden temple.
Some netizens while expressing shock over the incident questioned to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Is Punjab not part of India?
