Key narco-terror module conduits arrested with grenades in J&K’s Poonch

Security forces on Friday arrested three key conduits involved in Rs 150 crore Sunderbani narcotics recovery case from J&K’s Poonch district and recovered grenades from their possession.
 
Trio were part of an inter state drug peddling racket, which was busted by J&K Police on June 1. Two of it’s members namely Onkar Singh and Shamsher Singh from Gurdaspur Punjab were arrested with 22 kgs of heroine worth over Rs 150 cr in the international market.
 
Subsequently a probe was initiated to investigate linkages of this consignment. During multiple joint operations by Police and Army, three main conduits and operatives of the cross border narco terror module have been arrested.
 
 
“The apprehended individuals have been identified as Shakar Din from Poonch’s Degwar Terwan area; and Rashid and Shafir, both from Poonch’s Kalas village,” the spokesperson said, adding: “Following searches, two grenades have also been recovered from the possession of these individuals.”
 
They added that extensive search operations are currently underway, adding that the trio’s arrest had dealt a major blow to the complex cross-border narco-terror nexus being operated from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
