On February 22, 1994, both houses of the Indian Parliament unanimously passed a resolution stating that Pakistan has been occupying areas of India in Jammu and Kashmir. The resolution emphasized India's commitment to reclaim these territories. It also accused Pakistan of using the occupied territory for training and launching terrorists, urging Pakistan to refrain from engaging in terrorist activities.
The resolution reiterated that the State of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, urging Pakistan to promptly vacate its occupied areas. It advised Pakistan against internationalizing the Kashmir issue, highlighting that it was violating the Shimla Agreement. Two key issues, namely human rights violations and the living conditions of people in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir also remained a part of the resolution.
