A man was shot dead by terrorists in J&K’s Rajouri district on Monday evening. In critical condition, he was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
 
The victim, identified as Mohammad Razaq (40), son of Mohammad Akbar and resident of Kunda Top, Shahdara Sharif in J&K's Rajouri, was coming out from a nearby mosque when terrorists opened fire from a close range.
 
 
The brother of the deceased is an Indian Army soldier, and it's also being said that the terrorists target was him because he was also home on leave.
 
 
His father was also killed by the terrorists 20 years back in the same area and the deceased Mohammad Razaq, was working in Social Welfare Department and he was given the job on compassionate grounds after his father.
 
 
Soon after the attack, forces cordoned off the area, and an investigation has been initiated to nab the attackers.
 
 
Security has been heightened in Rajouri following the attack as campaigning for the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary seat is in full swing which will go to polls on May 7.
