Jaish Terrorist Associate Arrested from J&K’s Awantipora; Grenades and Explosives Recovered

Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a terrorist associate linked to the banned Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) group in Awantipora and recovered grenades and other explosive materials.
 
According to officials, a joint team of J&K Police, the Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles, and the 180 Battalion CRPF launched a cordon and search operation (CASO in the Naner Midoora area. During the operation, the forces arrested the JeM associate, identified as Nazir Ahmed Ganai.
 
 
Based on his disclosure, security forces traced and destroyed a terrorist hideout in the area. From the spot, they recovered two grenades, a detonator, and additional explosive material, averting a possible terror attempt.
 
 
District Police Awantipora shared the update on X, stating:
  
“Acting on credible input, Police Awantipora, along with 42 RR & 180 Battalion CRPF, conducted a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Naner Midoora, arresting JeM associate Nazir Ahmed Ganai. On his disclosure, a hideout was busted, and 2 grenades, 1 detonator & explosive material were recovered.”
