J&K: Cop Martyred in Udhampur Encounter; Terrorist Injured

A policeman was martyred and a terrorist is believed to have been injured during an encounter in Majalta village of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening, PTI reported.

 

The gunfight was suspended due to darkness and difficult terrain. However, the area has been placed under a tight security cordon, and all escape routes have been sealed to neutralise the holed-up terrorists, officials said.

 

The encounter broke out in the Majalta area after security forces launched a search operation based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of three terrorists.
