Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple’s Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Passes Away

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya’s Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, passed away on Wednesday at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. He had been admitted in critical condition on February 3 after suffering a stroke and was under close observation. He was 83.

 

 

Just weeks before his passing, Acharya Satyendra Das had taken part in the first anniversary celebrations of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ayodhya temple on January 11, calling the event “very beautiful.”

 

 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over his demise, calling it an “irreparable loss to the spiritual world.” The CM said "The demise of Acharya Shri Satyendra Kumar Das Ji Maharaj, the supreme devotee of Lord Ram and the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Shri Ayodhya Dham is extremely sad and an irreparable loss to the spiritual world...".
