Amarnath yatra 2025 Started now

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday flagged off the first group of Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu. These devotees are heading towards the holy cave shrine, where they will have darshan of the naturally formed ice Shivling on July 3, when the Yatra officially begins.

“Flagged off first batch of pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2025 from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp. Wishing all spiritual seekers a safe & comfortable journey to the holy abode of Lord Shiva and deeply soul-stirring experience. Prayed to Baba Amarnath for peace & blessings to all,” @OfficeOfLGJandK shared on X.

Before sending off the pilgrims, LG Sinha offered prayers at the Yatri Niwas base camp. As the convoy started its journey, the air was filled with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Bhole”.

The Amarnath Yatra is being held via both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is serving as the main lifeline for thousands of pilgrims travelling to the shrine.

Speaking about the arrangements, LG Manoj Sinha said, “Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has made excellent facilities for the Yatra. Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces have also maintained tight security. Devotees from all over the country are here. The enthusiasm is very high. The devotees of Bholenath have neglected all the terror attacks and have reached in huge numbers. I am hopeful that this year’s Yatra would be even better than the previous ones…”

This sacred journey in the South Kashmir Himalayas will continue for 38 days and will conclude on August 9, 2025.
