Nation Pays Tribute to 18 Soldiers Martyred in the Deadly Uri Terrorist Attack (18 September 2016)

On this day (18 September 2016), the nation pays tribute to 18 brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the deadly terrorist attack on the Indian Army camp at Uri in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

 

These bravehearts showed extraordinary courage when Pakistan based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists launched a cowardly attack. Our soldiers fought fearlessly to protect the camp and their fellow soldiers.

 

 

The gunfight went on for almost six hours. In the end, all four terrorists were gunned down. The Army later confirmed that Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed was behind the attack.

 

 

In this deadly attack, 18 soldiers were martyred and 20 others were injured.

 

 

Their unmatched bravery and spirit of selflessness continue to inspire every Indian. The memory of their sacrifice will always remain alive in our hearts and in the history of our nation.
