How a Pakistani-Written Article in Kashmir Times Distorts Reality and Undermines India’s Sovereignty

Jammu Kashmir

A recent article published in the Kashmir Times, written by a Pakistani journalist, attempts to drag Jammu & Kashmir ; an integral part of India- into global conflicts like Ukraine, Gaza and Venezuela. This is a deliberate effort to internationalise India’s internal matters, something New Delhi has consistently and firmly rejected.

The picture given below falsely suggests that borders from J&K to Arunachal Pradesh are “disputed”, directly echoing Pakistan’s propaganda line. Such claims have no basis in reality and challenge India’s territorial integrity. Jammu & Kashmir is not a conflict, but a sovereign Indian region facing cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan.

By linking Kashmir with unrelated global crisis, the writer tries to paint India as an aggressor and justify foreign interference. This is misleading, irresponsible, and dangerous.

More troubling is the role of the Kashmir Times itself. The newspaper has repeatedly given space to secessionist and anti-India narratives. Its credibility took a major hit after J&K Police raided its office on November 20 in Jammu in connection with alleged anti-national activities.

Media freedom does not mean freedom to undermine the nation. Promoting foreign narratives that question India’s unity only helps hostile forces and weakens public trust.

Jammu Kashmir is, and will remain, an inseparable part of India. Any attempt to portray it otherwise deserves firm rejection.
