Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir from February 5 to February 7 for a three day tour. The visit is mainly focused on reviewing the security situation in the Union Territory.

During his visit, Amit Shah will hold meetings with security officials, interact with political leaders, and inaugurate several development projects. As per reports, the main aim of the tour is to strengthen border security, fight terrorism, and maintain peace in the region.

This will be the second major security review in recent weeks. Earlier, a high-level meeting was held in New Delhi on January 8 to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Home Ministry has expressed concern over the presence of foreign terrorists in some areas of the Jammu region, especially Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, and upper parts of Udhampur.

At present, search and combing operations are going on in several areas. In a recent encounter in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar, one soldier was martyred, while a few others were injured.

The Central Government has clearly stated that making Jammu and Kashmir terror-free is its top priority. It has assured that all necessary support and resources will be provided to security forces to achieve this goal.
