Iran Rejects Pakistan’s Mediation Offer for US Talks, Cites Unfair Conditions

Iran has refused to take part in talks connected to Pakistan’s mediation efforts to broker peace between Iran and the United States amid the ongoing West Asia tensions. The country clearly said it was not involved in any such meetings and rejected the idea of joining Pakistan-led discussions.

 

 

Iran’s officials said that the conditions being proposed were unfair and unacceptable. They also made it clear that there are no direct talks with the United States at present.

 

 

Another major reason behind the refusal is lack of trust in Pakistan’s role as a mediator. Iran stated that these talks were Pakistan’s own initiative and it was never part of them.

 

 

Iran also believes that talks cannot happen under pressure, especially when tensions in the region are still high. It has asked for better and fair conditions before any future negotiations.
