New Delhi: India has strongly condemned the reported Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, particularly the targeting of civilian and economic facilities.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the attacks were unacceptable as they undermined regional security and stability and posed a threat to freedom of navigation in the Bab-el-Mandeb.
In response to a media query on the reported Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia, MEA’s official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said:
“India condemned the attacks on Saudi sovereign territory, especially the targeting of civilian and economic facilities.
He added that such attacks that undermined regional security and stability and threatened freedom of navigation in the Bab-el-Mandeb were unacceptable.”
The MEA statement came after at least 73 people were reportedly injured in a series of drone and missile attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis targeting civilian and economic sites in Saudi Arabia early Tuesday.
